 Wood Sculpture

Inspired by Plato's quest for beauty in symmetry, proportion and harmony, 36-years-old visual artist Sylvain Piget produces contemporary 3D artworks.

Totally self-taught, the artist does everything himself, having inherited his grandfather's carpentry skills. He creates visually impressive artworks in wood.

His success his due to his graphic, geometric artworks whose volumes captivate the eye. His mastery of color takes us on a journey through his bewitching universe.

The artist has always been inspired by the work of Takesada Matsutani for the simplicity of his pieces and his use of materials, which brings 3D into painting. It is not uncommon for Sylvain Piget’s sculptures to be compared to the style of Vasarely, who painted in 2D. In Sylvain Piget’s work, it is not only color that creates a sense of volume but rather a monumental process of assemblage, giving the pieces an almost psychedelic appearance with incredible and captivating depth.

A studio open to the world

Sylvain Piget nurtures the originality of his art, making him highly sought after. His work is exhibited in numerous venues dedicated to contemporary art, including prestigious hotels such as Le Chais Monnet in Cognac, Le Domaine de Rochebois in the heart of Périgord, and in Paris at Hôtel Square.

Sylvain Piget is also showcased at international contemporary art fairs. His work even crosses oceans, with a permanent presence on two luxury cruise ships of the Ponant company.
